Inspired to Fly, Spin, and Go Further.

Born in 2013, Funa started skiing at the age of eight in second grade and began moguls in third grade.

After watching moguls videos, she thought, “I want to spin and fly like that too.” That excitement became the reason she started the sport.

She joined TEAM BANKEI in 2023, during her fourth-grade year.

In 2026, she placed third at the 26th B-Class Bankei Moguls Competition and second at the Imatoku Cup Hachikita Moguls Competition.

With sharp, dynamic airs as one of her strengths, she continues to improve by consistently putting in the work and reflecting on her own performance.

02 / GOAL

THE NEXT GOAL.

THIS SEASON

My goals this season are to win a B-Class competition, consistently ski the Bankei moguls course in the 35-second range, and develop skiing with more speed and power.

FUTURE

My goal is to compete in the Olympic Games and become an athlete who can continue facing competition with a positive attitude and a smile.

03 / ATHLETE STORY

It Started with a Desire to Fly.

I started moguls after watching videos and thinking, “I want to spin and fly like that too.”

In both training and competition, I make a point of keeping a journal and reflecting on my performance.

When something doesn't go well, I ask myself what I can do differently. When something does go well, I try to understand why.

By analyzing my own skiing and thinking through each experience, I try to find something I can carry into the next training session.

To me, TEAM BANKEI is a place where I can reflect on myself while pushing one another to improve with my teammates.

04 / MY STRENGTH

Sharp, dynamic airs and the determination to keep working consistently in training.

Competitive and expressive

06 / MESSAGE

Be Recognized for More Than Results.

I believe a person's character often shows most clearly in both victory and defeat.

That is why I want to make good manners, greetings, gratitude, and consideration for others part of how I carry myself every day.

I don't want to be recognized only for my results. I want to earn respect through my attitude, my actions, and the way I treat the people around me.

I know I still have a long way to go, but I have been able to continue competing because of the support of my family, my coaches, and the advice of my teammates.

Even when things become more difficult, I want to keep reminding myself to be grateful and never take the support around me for granted as I continue pursuing moguls.
