02 / FROM ATHLETE TO COACH

Back to the Snow.

After graduating from university, I stepped away from competition and spent three years working in the private sector.

Even while living away from skiing, the feeling that I wanted to stay connected to the sport never really left.

I wanted to share again in the joy, frustration, and emotion that come with athletes pursuing their goals.

That feeling brought me back to TEAM BANKEI in 2019, this time as a coach.

Coaching Should Never Be One-Way.

I don't want coaching to be about simply telling athletes what to do. I want them to think, feel, and work toward answers for themselves.

Why did that run feel the way it did? What could make it better?

By drawing out what each athlete is thinking, we can organize those ideas together and add the technical advice they need.

I believe learning to think and take initiative for yourself leads not only to better performance, but also to growth beyond competition.

04 / MESSAGE

Win or Lose, Be an Athlete Others Respect.

Results matter in competition.

But at TEAM BANKEI, I want athletes to gain more than results.

I want them to be respected in victory and in defeat. And when their competitive careers eventually come to an end, I hope they continue to be trusted and respected as people.

Through skiing, I want to help athletes grow not only as competitors, but as people. My role as a coach is to support that growth while thinking and working alongside them.
